Guangxi University for Nationalities has majors in international economy and trade, marketing, taxation, Chinese international education, marine science, Chinese medicine and pharmacy, and environmental engineering.

The school was founded in March 1952, and its predecessor was the Guangxi branch of the Central University for Nationalities (now the Central University for Nationalities). In June, it was renamed Guangxi University for Nationalities 1953, and in June, it was renamed Guangxi University for Nationalities 1958. In February 2006, the Ministry of Education approved the renaming of Guangxi University for Nationalities. It is a comprehensive university for nationalities jointly established by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and a key construction project in the 11th Five-Year Plan of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Guangxi University for Nationalities is located in Nanning, the picturesque capital of Guangxi, with three campuses, namely Xiang Si Lake, Siyuan Lake and Wuming, covering an area of about 3,600 mu. The campus environment is beautiful and quiet, the architectural style is simple and elegant, and the humanistic atmosphere is profound and rich. It has distinctive Zhuang ethnic characteristics and exotic customs in Southeast Asia. It is an ideal garden for reading and studying, and was selected as one of the nine most poetic universities in China in Global Human Geography.

Guangxi University for Nationalities has a solid foundation and a complete talent training system.
