Jishou Teachers College is the common name of Jishou University Teachers College. Jishou University Teachers College is a public secondary college of Jishou University. Approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government on June 8th, 20001,it was formed by the merger of the former Xiangxi Institute of Ethnic Education (1the former Xiangxi Teachers' College established on April 30th, 980) and Jishou Normal School for Nationalities (1the former Xiangxi Special Zone Teachers' College established in July, 936). In 2006, the college was identified by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education as one of the four schools in the province to train primary school teachers at the junior college level. 20 12 became the only junior high school in western Hunan that offered five-year preschool education. 20 13 became one of the educational science research bases in Hunan province. In 20 17, the college added a professional degree of master of education.

Jishou University Teachers College is located in the center of Jishou, the capital of Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture, and is a garden unit in Hunan Province. There is Wuxi Academy, a cultural relic protection unit in Hunan Province. The college enrolls students from eight provinces (regions) such as Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Hainan, Guizhou, Xinjiang and Shandong, and has five undergraduate majors and 1 1 specialist majors. There are more than 4,300 full-time students at school. The college has established practice bases in more than 30 primary and secondary schools and kindergartens inside and outside the province.
