Beijing Technology and Business University was formed by the merger of Beijing Business College (founded in 1950) and Beijing Institute of Light Industry (founded in 1958). It is a key multidisciplinary university in Beijing, focusing on economy, management and engineering, and the disciplines of economy, management, engineering, literature, science, law and history support each other and develop in a coordinated way. In 2007, the Ministry of Education rated the undergraduate teaching in colleges and universities nationwide as "excellent".
