Shanghai International Studies University, referred to as "Shanghai International Studies University" for short, is the first foreign language institution established after the founding of New China. It is one of the birthplaces of foreign language education in New China. Directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and jointly established with the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.
