Where is Chuanshan Club?
Chuanshan Society is a cultural relic protection unit and patriotic education base in Hunan Province.

Chuanshan Society, the former site is located at 74 Zhongshan Road, Changsha. During Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty (1875- 1908), Zeng Guofan Temple was established. 19 14, Lu Liuwei and others initiated the organization of Chuanshan Society to commemorate Wang Chuanshan and expound his thoughts. The former site has a single-story courtyard with three entrances, brick and wood structure, gables, small blue tiles, red painted doors and windows, and square brick floor, which is very elegant in the downtown area. 192 1 year, in order to gather talents and train cadres, He Shuheng established a self-study university named after Cai Yuanpei by using the venue and funds of Chuanshan Society, with Li Da as the senior and Li Xia and Xia Xia serving here. 1923165438+10, the self-study university was closed by the warlord Zhao Hengti. The house was destroyed by 1938 Changsha fire, 1954 was rebuilt on the basis of the original house and restored to its original appearance, 1956 was opened to the public. In the same year, it was announced by the Hunan Provincial People's Government as a key cultural relics protection unit in Hunan Province. 1995 was included in the first batch of patriotic education bases in Hunan Province by the Propaganda Department of Hunan Provincial Party Committee.

In the past, people's understanding of the former site of Chuanshan Society may only be related to the Hunan Self-study University founded by Mao Zedong and He Shuheng, because the former site of Chuanshan Society has always been famous as the first school for training revolutionary cadres in China's * * * production party. In fact, before the establishment of Hunan self-study university in August 192 1, the historical evolution of the former site was equally brilliant. Chuanshan Society was founded by Guo Songtao, a famous westernization thinker and diplomat in the late Qing Dynasty. He founded Sixian Lecture Hall at 188 1, which was the earliest educational institution to commemorate Wang Fuzhi. Sixian Lecture Hall is an academy in form, in order to achieve the purpose of spreading sages' thoughts through lectures.

Guo Songtao founded Sixian Lecture Hall to promote Wang Chuanshan's learning. Guo Songtao personally appointed Si Xian as the first speaker. On the opening day, when he talked about "learning the big finger", he put forward the following requirements for all the students: "Self-respect is the foundation of standing, courtesy is the way to treat others, teachers and friends are the benefit of learning, and learning is pragmatic." When Sixian Lecture Hall opened, there were 265,438+0 dropouts, including Guo Songtao as a lecturer, Zuo Changqing as a producer and Yin Zhuwu as an arithmetic and manufacturing teacher. Guo Songtao and Ren Sixian only spoke for one year. Later, Peng Chaoyi, Deng Fulun, Wang Yun and Wang Xianqian all served as lecturers. During his lecture in Wang Xianqian, he proposed to set up a library in Sixian Lecture Hall and carved many books. In the 17th year of Guangxu (189 1), Sixian Lecture Hall and Zhongchuan Bookstore merged into Sixian Bookstore.

19 1 1 year, the Revolution of 1911 led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen overthrew the Qing Dynasty and ended the feudal monarchy in China for more than two thousand years. As an educational institution in the late Qing Dynasty, Sixian gave lectures and stopped activities. The 30-year existence of Sixian Lecture Hall not only cultivated a group of talents for Hunan, but also published a number of important books, which promoted the development of Hunan's book engraving industry. After the Revolution of 1911, Liu Chuang established Chuanshan Society, and Wei Lu, director of the Civil Affairs Department of Hunan Doudufu, was the first person to study Wang Fuzhi's academic thoughts. 1965438+On June 4th, 2004, Chuanshan Society was formally established, and Liu was elected as the first prime minister (president). Liu published an article in the first issue of Chuanshan Magazine, pointing out: "What does Chuanshan Magazine do, but it is also worried about the Republic of China." Clearly expressed the purpose of establishing Chuanshan magazine, which is also his original intention of establishing Chuanshan Society. Liu believes that the fundamental reason of social unrest in the early Republic of China lies in the loss of inherent morality. He is determined to save the moral spirit of society. He thinks that the correct moral spirit is Mr. Wang Fuzhi's patriotism. Therefore, Chuanshan Society aims to study Wang Fuzhi's academic thoughts and publicize Wang Fuzhi's patriotism.

192 1 July, Mao Zedong and He Shuheng, on behalf of Hunan * * * production team, went to Shanghai to attend the first national congress of China * * * production party, and returned to Changsha travel-stained. At the same time, they started to set up a new school-Hunan Self-study University to train talents for carrying out large-scale revolutionary activities. Running a school requires venues and funds. With the support of He, the president of Chuanshan Society, He Shuheng used the venue and funds of Chuanshan Society and the thought and influence of Chuanshan Society to establish a self-study university in Hunan. 1921August, Hunan self-study university officially opened, and he was appointed president of Hunan self-study university.

Hunan Self-study University adopts new teaching methods, focusing on self-study, combining with * * * research and teachers' guidance, focusing on guiding students to study Marxism, studying the practical problems of China Revolution, and calling on students to directly participate in the practice of social revolution. At most, there were more than 200 students (including affiliated tutorial schools and junior high schools) in Hunan self-study university, which trained a group of revolutionary cadres for the party. He Shuheng, Li Da, Li, Xia, Guo Liang, Xia, Luo Xuezan, Mao Zemin and Mao Taiqin all studied and worked in self-study universities. Hunan self-study university became the base camp of Hunan people's revolution in the early days of China's * * * production party. 1923,1/kloc-0 In June, Hunan self-study university was sealed up by the warlord Zhao Hengti government. Later, the Xiangzhong District Committee organized Xiangjiang School to continue to train revolutionary cadres for the Party.

Therefore, the development track of the former site has created three firsts: the first educational institution to commemorate Wang Fuzhi-Sixian Lecture Hall, the first group to study Wang Fuzhi's academic thoughts-Chuanshan Society, and the first school for the Chinese production party to train revolutionary cadres-Hunan Self-study University. Professor Wang Xingguo, director of the former Institute of Philosophy of Hunan Academy of Social Sciences, said: The development history of the former site of Chuanshan Society reflects the arduous course of modern intellectuals in Hunan to explore the road of saving the country and the people, and is a concentrated expression of the most distinctive patriotism in Huxiang culture. The former site is a vivid patriotic education classroom integrating "three firsts".
