Gu Minghong, male, born in 1939, graduate student, professor. Director of Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Plant Functional Genomics, Vice Chairman of Jiangsu Genetic Society, Consultant of National Major Basic Research Advisory Group of Ministry of Science and Technology, and Member of Advisory Committee of Life Science Department of National Natural Science Foundation of China. His research interests are plant functional genomics and genetic crop breeding. Presided over a number of national and provincial major scientific research projects. Many rice varieties, such as Yangnuo No.2, have been bred and widely popularized in production. A series of achievements have been made in the research of rice trait inheritance, molecular cytology and transgenic technology, and more than 200 papers have been published in important academic journals at home and abroad. He has won the Jiangsu Science Conference Award, the first prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the State Education Commission, the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the State Education Commission, and the first prize of Natural Science Nomination Award of the State Ministry of Education. He has won the titles of young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in China and model workers in Jiangsu Province.
