What do you mean by national defense students?
National defense students refer to the first batch of fresh graduates from ordinary middle schools (including students with walking conditions) recruited by the army relying on local ordinary colleges and universities. College students select and train reserve officers according to the needs of army building.

National defense students are divided into two categories, one is selected from ordinary college students, and the other is recruited from fresh high school graduates. National defense students are relatively relaxed in military management, because they enter local universities for four years of training, while military school students directly receive stricter military training.

Characteristics of national defense students

1. National defense students have the dual identities of ordinary college students and future military officers, providing college students with double opportunities to fully display their personalities and realize their military dreams.

2. Most colleges and universities that recruit national defense students are key universities, and there are also famous schools such as Tsinghua Peking University. The teaching facilities and teachers of these local universities are obviously higher than those of military schools, and national defense students can receive the best education here.

3. After signing an agreement with the relevant military units, national defense students can also enjoy national defense scholarships provided by the military during their school days.
