The Origin of the Pilgrimage Festival in Bangladesh
90% of Bangladeshis are devout Muslims. Like all Islamic countries in the world, they worship five times a day. There is Ramadan every year, and you can't eat during the day. On the first day of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, you kill cattle and sheep in the street. But for Muslims in Bangladesh, these are not, but the unique "Hajj Festival" in Bangladesh, which China calls BishwaIjtema (meaning "Global Congress"). Large-scale pilgrimage activities, mainly Muslims in Bangladesh (there are also many Muslims from other countries). The pilgrimage to BiswaIjtema began in the 1960s (when Bangladesh was still a part of East Pakistan). A Muslim non-political organization named TablighiJamaat (Association for the Exchange of Beliefs) is an international prayer and sermon for ordinary people, aiming at promoting and teaching the teachings of Islam. It is said that the first pilgrimage was held at the organization headquarters of Ka crell Mosque near Dhaka University. Due to the increasing number of participants, the pilgrimage has gradually moved to the grasslands on both sides of tuul river.
