1956, the CPC Central Committee called for "the whole country to March into science and culture", and the first party member Congress held in September of that year decided to establish Tangshan Industrial Night University, with its campus located in Tangshan Railway Institute. 1957, approved by the former Ministry of Higher Education, was officially named Tangshan Amateur Institute of Technology, headed by Tangshan Municipal People's Government and managed by Tangshan Railway Institute. 1960 was rated as the national advanced unit and sent representatives to attend the "National Association of Cultural and Educational Talents". 65438+September 0969 was closed due to the Cultural Revolution. 1983 In March, in order to solve the talent shortage problem in Tangshan, Tangshan Vocational College was established in Tangshan Institute of Education with the approval of Hebei Provincial People's Government and the record of the former State Education Commission. 1In September, 1984, Tangshan Municipal People's Government decided to jointly run a school with Tangshan Vocational College and Tangshan Amateur Institute of Technology, and the school site was moved to Tangshan Radio and TV University. On June 1985, Tangshan Vocational College was renamed Tangshan University. In September of the same year, Southwest Jiaotong University established Southwest Jiaotong University Tangshan Branch to support Tangshan, and joined the ranks of joint schools after its establishment. As a result, a "trinity" joint school-running system of Tangshan University, Southwest Jiaotong University Tangshan Branch and Tangshan Amateur Institute of Technology was formed, and the school site was moved to the former municipal committee compound of Wujiazhuang. 1989 1, Tangshan Amateur Institute of Technology was renamed Tangshan Staff University. In June of the same year, the school moved to Huayan North Road.

1July, 1992, with the approval of the former State Education Commission, Tangshan University was renamed Tangshan College. From 65438 to 0996, the school and Southwest Jiaotong University began to jointly run undergraduate majors, which opened the prelude to the reconstruction of undergraduate colleges.

In March 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Tangshan College, Tangshan Branch of Southwest Jiaotong University and Tangshan Workers College merged to form Tangshan College, which is an ordinary undergraduate school at the undergraduate level. In June of the same year, the Education Department of Hebei Province approved the original Tangshan Building Materials Industry School to be substantially merged into Tangshan College and become the East Campus of the College.
