Brief introduction of Gannan Institute of Science and Technology:
Gannan Institute of Science and Technology, referred to as "Ganke", is located in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. It is a public undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education, managed by Jiangxi Provincial People's Government and organized by Ganzhou Municipal People's Government.
The predecessor of the school is West Point College of Southern Metallurgy College, which was founded by Jiangxi University of Science and Technology (formerly Southern Metallurgy College) and Jiangxi Honglian Industrial Company in April 20001year. In February 2002, it was renamed the School of Applied Science of Southern Metallurgical Institute. In 2003, the Ministry of Education officially recognized it as an independent college. In May 2004, it was renamed the College of Applied Science of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology.
From June 5438 to February 2020, the Ministry of Education agreed that the College of Applied Science of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology should be transformed into Gannan Institute of Science and Technology, and the establishment of the College of Applied Science of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology should be abolished.
In April 2023, the school official website showed that the school campus covers an area of 807.6 mu, with a total construction area of 330,000 square meters. The library has more than 636,000 paper books, more than 30,000 kinds of electronic books/kloc-0, and more than 455 full-time teachers.
