Beihua University, referred to as Beihua for short, is located in Jilin City, Jilin Province, China. It is the largest comprehensive key university in Jilin Province, the pilot university of "Excellent Doctor Education and Training Plan" and the first batch of pilot universities in China to reform the education and training plan of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents.
1999 was approved by the Ministry of Education, and Beihua University was formed by the merger of Jilin Normal University (founded in 1906, the first batch of normal universities in China), Jilin Medical College, Jilin Forestry College (founded in 1952, a provincial university) and Jilin Institute of Electrification (directly under the Department of Metallurgical Engineering).
