There are currently three undergraduate colleges in Nanchong, of which West China Normal University and North Sichuan Medical College belong to public undergraduate colleges, and Hope College of Southwest Jiaotong University belongs to private undergraduate colleges. There is also a public college, Nanchong Vocational and Technical College.

China West Normal University

China West Normal University is a key university in Sichuan Province. Founded in 1946, the school has developed into a school with complete disciplines, excellent school conditions and strong teachers.

The main characteristic majors are: physics, education, ideological and political education, physical education, Chinese language and literature, biological science, geographical science, history, computer science and technology, environmental science and so on.

The two best institutions in Nanchong are West China Normal University and North Sichuan Medical College. At present, the specialties of North Sichuan Medical College mainly include anesthesiology, medical imaging, optometry and medical laboratory science.
