Bethune Second Hospital of Jilin University is a large comprehensive teaching hospital directly under the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education. Formerly known as the Second Clinical College of Bethune Medical University, it was founded in 1948. Its predecessor was the puppet Manchukuo Xinjing Special Municipal Hospital, which was founded in 1936. After several renaming, it was officially named the Second Clinical College of Bethune Medical University on August 1978. In June, 2000, the five universities merged and changed its name to the Second Hospital of Jilin University.
