Civil Aviation University is an ordinary institution of higher learning directly under the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China. It is a national "double-first-class" (world-class university and first-class discipline) construction university, 21/engineering key construction university, and has been selected into the national excellent engineer education and training plan and the national new engineering research and practice project.
The school is located in Tianjin and consists of three campuses, namely: Dongli Lake main campus (covering an area of nearly 4,000 mu), Beichen Road campus (covering an area of about 1 1,000 mu) and Binhai Airport Teaching Experimental Zone (covering an area of about 500 mu). Among them, the air traffic control building of Dongli Lake main campus is the largest in Asia, with the only physical simulation laboratory of instrument landing system in China.
The predecessor of the school is the Second Civil Aviation School of the Civil Aviation Bureau of the People's Revolutionary Military Commission of the Central People's Government, which was established on September 25th. 1958 12 15, the school was renamed as China Civil Aviation Advanced Aviation School. On June 2 1, 65438, 0963, China Institute of Civil Aviation Machinery was merged and incorporated into the sequence of ordinary universities.
1981August 10, the school was renamed as Civil Aviation College of China. On May 30th, 2006, the school was renamed civil aviation university of china. As of May, 20 18, the school has 12 first-class master's degree authorization points in six disciplines, including engineering, management, science, economics, literature and law, and four professional master's degree authorization points, including master of engineering, master of business administration (MBA), master of law and master of translation. The school has 29 undergraduate majors, covering the main business areas of civil aviation.
