Hanshan Teachers College is an undergraduate normal college with a long history and distinctive features in Guangdong Province, located in Chaozhou, a national historical and cultural city enjoying the reputation of "China's porcelain capital". The campus covers an area of 987,000 square meters with a building area of 452,000 square meters.
The school was founded in the 29th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1903) and returned to Chaojia Normal School. Its predecessor can be traced back to Hanshan Academy, which was built in the fifth year of Song and Yuan Dynasties (1090). It is the first batch in China and the first school in Guangdong to train teachers.
192 1 was renamed as the second provincial normal school, 1935, 1949 was renamed as Hanshan normal school, 1958 was upgraded to Hanshan normal college, and 1993 was upgraded to Hanshan normal college.

As of July, 2022, the school has 17 secondary colleges, including College of Literature and Journalism and Guangdong Ceramic Vocational and Technical School, and 64 undergraduate enrollment majors (including major categories), covering 9 disciplines such as economy, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management and art.
There are 4 provincial-level key disciplines, 3 provincial-level "strengthened" key disciplines, 3 national specialty and comprehensive reform pilot projects, 10 provincial-level first-class specialty construction sites, 23 provincial-level specialty and comprehensive reform pilot projects and application-oriented talent training demonstration majors, 7 of which have passed IEET certification, and 3 majors of chemistry, biological sciences and history have passed the second-level certification of normal majors of the Ministry of Education.
