Quanzhou University of Information Science and Technology is a full-time application-oriented undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education.

The predecessor of the school is Quanzhou Information Vocational and Technical College, which was founded in 2002. 20 1 1 was identified by the Fujian Provincial Department of Education, the Department of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission as the project construction unit of "Fujian Demonstration Higher Vocational Colleges". In 20 12, it was listed as "the first batch of educational informatization pilot units in China" by the Ministry of Education. April 20 14, the school was rated as "National Advanced Vocational Education Unit" by the Ministry of Education and other six departments.

In May, 20 14, it was upgraded to a full-time undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In May, 2022, the school was newly added as a training unit for granting master's degrees in Fujian Province from 2002 to 2026.

As of September 20 17, the school has more than 8,200 full-time students and 5 15 faculty members. As of August 2022, the school has 8 colleges and general education centers, 33 undergraduate majors and 4 specialist majors.

By September 30th, 20 17, there were 389 full-time teachers and 48 external teachers/kloc-0, of which full-time teachers with full-time titles accounted for 10.80% and full-time teachers with doctoral degrees accounted for 5.66%.
