School of civil engineering

Civil engineering major (undergraduate, four years)

Civil engineering specialty is the first batch of top-quality specialty in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Relying on the national key discipline of Structural Engineering of Guangxi University, the postdoctoral mobile station of civil engineering, the key laboratory of engineering disaster prevention and structural safety of the Ministry of Education, the key laboratory of Guangxi disaster prevention and mitigation and engineering safety, the national key construction discipline of Hongshui River Basin structural engineering and water resources development "21engineering" and the high-end platform of Guangxi engineering disaster prevention and structural safety.

This major trains students to master the basic theory of engineering mechanics and engineering structure, and has the ability of civil engineering structure design, construction and project management. This major includes two major directions: construction engineering and road and bridge engineering. The main courses are: material mechanics, structural mechanics, hydraulics, soil mechanics, building materials, architectural architecture, concrete structure design principle, steel structure, architectural structure design, bridge engineering, road survey and design, subgrade and pavement engineering, construction technology and management, etc. Grade one and grade two study the same basic courses and professional basic courses, and grade three chooses the professional direction according to social needs and students' interests. The direction of architectural engineering trains students to master the basic theoretical knowledge and professional knowledge of architectural structure design, construction and project management. Graduates can engage in design, construction, management, teaching and scientific research in architectural design, urban construction, construction companies, schools and scientific research departments. The direction of road and bridge engineering trains students to master basic theoretical knowledge and professional knowledge such as planning, survey, design, construction, project management and maintenance of road and bridge engineering. Graduates can engage in the survey, design, supervision, construction, management, teaching and scientific research of road and bridge engineering in transportation departments, urban construction departments, schools and scientific research units.

Major in Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering (undergraduate, four years)

Relying on the high-level discipline platforms such as Hongshui River Basin Structural Engineering and Hydraulic Resources Development, 2 1 1 Engineering, Key Laboratory of Engineering Disaster Prevention and Structural Safety of Ministry of Education, Key Laboratory of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation and Engineering Safety of Autonomous Region, and Guangxi Talent Highland, this major cultivates high-level talents in water conservancy and hydropower. Cultivate students to master the basic principles and skills of water conservancy and hydropower engineering design, and have the ability of design, construction and management of water conservancy and hydropower engineering. The main courses are: mechanics of materials, structural mechanics, hydraulics, soil mechanics and foundation, engineering geology, engineering hydrology, economics of water conservancy projects, design principles of concrete structures, construction of water conservancy projects, hydropower stations and hydraulic structures. Graduates can engage in the survey, design, construction, management, teaching and scientific research of water conservancy and hydropower projects in water conservancy and hydropower production and operation departments, schools and scientific research units.

Architectural planning (undergraduate, five-year program)

Architectural planning includes architecture and urban planning. It is a large-scale enrollment and adopts the "2+3" training mode: all students study the same course in the first two years and study by major in the last three years. This category focuses on cultivating students' four abilities: first, the ability of manual drawing and computer-aided drawing; Second, the ability of scheme analysis and design; Third, professional document writing ability; Fourth, social research and interpersonal skills. In teaching, ensure that every student has a set of professional drawing desks and chairs, and teach in small classes, so that teachers and students can fully interact and pay attention to the cultivation of practical skills. In recent three years, this major mainly offers courses such as residential architectural design, public architectural design, Chinese and foreign architectural history, urban planning principles, residential planning and design, landscape architecture design, urban design, building energy conservation, engineering survey and cartography. Graduates can engage in architectural design, management and teaching in architectural design units, urban planning and design units, management departments, real estate companies, universities and colleges.

Urban planning major

In recent three years, this major mainly offers courses such as urban planning principles, detailed urban planning, overall urban planning, town and village planning, urban space and environmental landscape design, green space planning, urban road planning, development history of Chinese and foreign urban construction, regional planning, urban and rural planning management and regulations. Graduates can engage in planning, design, management and teaching in urban planning and design units, architectural design units, garden green space design, landscape design, management departments, real estate companies, colleges and universities, etc.

Special note: Freshmen who are admitted to this category will have to re-test sketch and watercolor painting after entering the school, and those who fail will be transferred to other majors outside this category.
