Xi Jiaotong University is the earliest well-known institution of higher learning in China and a key university directly under the Ministry of Education. The school is a key construction unit during the Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Eighth Five-Year Plan. It was one of the first batch of national "2 1 1" and "985" project construction schools. By May, 2023, 7 disciplines of our university 1% will enter the world academic institutions, and 5 disciplines will enter the world academic institutions 1‰, among which engineering will enter the top tenth.

The school is a comprehensive research university covering science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, literature, law, philosophy, art, education, etc. 1 1 disciplines and interdisciplinary subjects, with 32 colleges (departments and centers), 9 undergraduate colleges and 3 directly affiliated hospitals. There are 6,635 faculty members, including 3,789 full-time teachers.
