American community college is a higher education institution recognized by the American State Department of Education and an important part of the American education system. Community colleges are generally two-year, equivalent to junior colleges in China, but provide opportunities to enter four-year universities. The credits of community colleges are fully recognized by four-year undergraduate universities. After completing two years of study in a community college, students can transfer to a four-year university in the third year to study elementary and advanced courses, and upon graduation, they will receive a bachelor's degree from a four-year university.
Two-year community colleges and four-year universities in the United States implement the "2+2" transfer system, and most community colleges and four-year universities have transfer agreements, thus ensuring that the credits of community colleges can be recognized in four-year degree courses.
