Tongchuan Branch of Shaanxi Radio and TV University is an open university with modern information technology as the main means, using radio, television, text and audio-visual teaching materials, computer networks and other media for distance education. The school was established in February, 1979. Tongchuan Radio and TV University has an office, a teaching department and a general affairs department. Party organizations include party branches, trade unions, youth league committees and student unions. The school is located at No.35 Hongqi Street, Tongchuan City, with convenient transportation. It covers an area of 4347M2, with a total construction area of 3985M2. The school has a voice laboratory, a microcomputer room, a multimedia classroom, a two-way video classroom for distance teaching and an audio-visual reading room. There are more than 50 large-scale teaching instruments/kloc-0, including 20 teaching microcomputers/kloc-0. There is a library and a newspaper reading room. The library has 8000 books, and the reading room has more than 100 kinds of newspapers and magazines every year.
Tongchuan Radio and TV University has 24 full-time teachers. 1 school leaders, 3 middle-level leaders. 20 full-time undergraduates and 4 junior college students; Among them, senior title 10, intermediate title 1 1, junior title 3. We have a long-term team of part-time teachers, who are relatively stable, have certain teaching experience and are familiar with the laws of modern distance education, and are well received by TV University students. There are 50 teachers, including 28 senior teachers and 22 intermediate teachers, forming a team of teachers with full-time teachers as the backbone and part-time teachers as the main body.
Tongchuan Radio and TV University adheres to the school-running system of "combining industry system with local government", overall planning, graded school-running and graded management, and constantly strengthens system construction. A distance education network covering Tongchuan and urban and rural areas has been initially formed. This mode of running a school adapts to the basic market situation that Tongchuan City is located in the northwest inland, its economy is underdeveloped, it is difficult to attract foreign talents, traditional pillar industries such as coal, building materials and aluminum smelting need technicians, the city's power supply and heating, sewage treatment and other rapid development, education, science and technology, medical and health care are also in urgent need of talents, and the demand for talents is large. Since its establishment, our school has offered six courses in engineering, management, literature, economics, law and medicine, including mechanical engineering, electromechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, chemical engineering, normal university, business administration, accounting and auditing, finance, Chinese, applied art, political history, law, English and nursing. Hold 9 secondary school majors in accounting, silicate, cement technology, electromechanical, kindergarten teacher, western medicine, nurse, accounting computerization and computer application; Open education undergraduate accounting, law, business administration, finance, English, administration, Chinese language and literature, computer science and other eight majors; Open education is divided into nine majors, including accounting, finance, computer application, law, business administration, administration, primary education, education management and modern clerks. A total of 57 16 students were enrolled, and 3,773 students graduated (including 4 12 undergraduate students, 2,865,438 junior college students and 543 secondary school students), and 438/kloc-0 students were trained.
At present, there are 1607 students, including 80 adult college students, 564 open education undergraduates and 963 open education college students.
Starting from the actual needs of Tongchuan's economic construction and social development, our school gives full play to the network advantages and modern teaching characteristics of RTVU system, and insists on running schools on demand for local, grassroots and rural areas. In order to meet the needs of the "Nine-Year Plan" of our city, our school has successively set up specialized courses in ordinary colleges and universities such as kindergarten teachers, Chinese, political history and English, and trained a large number of primary and secondary school teachers who have taken root at the grassroots level. In view of the shortage of medical staff in Tongchuan City, our school has continuously set up clinical medicine, advanced nursing, secondary school doctors and nurses from 1993, and trained a large number of senior and intermediate medical talents for our city.
The school attaches great importance to teaching quality, always adheres to teaching as the center, constantly strengthens internal management and deepens internal reform, establishes and improves teaching and teaching management rules and regulations, and strictly implements the "five unifications" teaching principle of "unified course name, unified syllabus, unified teaching materials, unified examination and unified grading standards" of Central Radio and TV University. In June, 20001year, we passed the evaluation and acceptance of the running level of our school by the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Power Saving University. In June, 2002, it passed the mid-term evaluation of "Talent Training Mode Reform and Open Education Pilot" by the Ministry of Education and Central Radio and TV University.
The school has always attached importance to teaching and scientific research. Combined with the fact that Tongchuan Radio and TV University has few staff, most full-time teachers are teachers of basic courses or public courses, and they are different disciplines or majors, a comprehensive teaching and research group has been established to carry out educational, teaching and scientific research activities. Especially since the implementation of the pilot project of open education, in order to promote the healthy and smooth development of the pilot project of open education, comprehensively improve the school management level and teaching quality, and stimulate the enthusiasm of all faculty members to participate in scientific research, the school has also studied, formulated and issued the "Measures for Rewards and Punishment of Teaching and Scientific Research in Tongchuan Radio and TV University", and established the pilot research leading group of open education in Tongchuan Radio and TV University and the modern distance education research room. Every year, the faculty and staff who publish academic papers are commended and rewarded. In recent years, the teaching and research staff of our school have published more than 30 papers in national public journals.
