1, Southwest Jiaotong University

Founded in 1896 and formerly known as Shanhaiguan Beiyang Railway Institute, the school is the first engineering institution of higher learning in China and the birthplace of higher education in civil engineering, traffic engineering and mining and metallurgy engineering in China.

It is one of the earliest two sources of Jiaotong University, and enjoys a good reputation at home and abroad with Tangshan Jiaotong University and Tangyuan, and is known as the "cradle of railway engineers in China".

Southwest Jiaotong University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, and the first batch of research universities with graduate schools in the national "Double First Class", "21Project", "Characteristic 985 Project" and "201Collaborative Innovation Plan".
