University of Science and Technology Beijing was founded by the departments of mining and metallurgy of six famous universities in China, such as Tianjin University (formerly Beiyang University) and Tsinghua University. 1952. It has developed into a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education focusing on engineering, science, management, literature, economics and law, and is one of the earliest universities in China to formally establish a graduate school.

Since its founding sixty-five years ago, the school has gradually formed a fine tradition of "rigorous study style and advocating practice", and has trained more than 200,000 talents of all kinds for the society, most of whom have become the pillars and backbones of the country's politics, economy, science and technology, education and other fields, especially metallurgy and materials industry.

The school consists of School of Civil and Resource Engineering, School of Metallurgical and Ecological Engineering, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Energy and Environmental Engineering, School of Automation, School of Computer and Communication Engineering, School of Mathematics and Physics, School of Chemistry and Biological Engineering, Dongling School of Economics and Management, School of Grammar, School of Marxism, School of Foreign Languages, School of Senior Engineers, as well as Graduate School, Sports Department, Guanzhuang Campus, Tianjin College and Yanqing Branch. At present, there are 20 authorized points for doctoral degrees in first-class disciplines, 30 authorized points for master's degrees in first-class disciplines, 79 authorized points for doctoral degrees in two disciplines and 137 authorized points for master's degrees in two disciplines.

Beijing, referred to as "Beijing" for short, is the capital of People's Republic of China (PRC) and one of the four municipalities directly under the Central Government of China. Beijing is a national central city, megacity, national political center, cultural center, international exchange center and scientific and technological innovation center. It is a world-famous ancient capital and a modern international city.
