Anhui University is located in Hefei, the capital of Anhui Province. It is the first batch of "world-class discipline construction universities" in China, which is jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Anhui Provincial People's Government.

In April, 2020, the school official website showed that the school has three postdoctoral research stations 13, one-level discipline authorized by doctoral degree 18, one-level discipline authorized by doctoral degree 1 one (excluding the coverage of first-level discipline), 32 first-level disciplines authorized by master's degree, and two master's degrees authorized by two disciplines (excluding the coverage of first-level discipline).
