Jiamusi University, located in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, is a provincial-level high-level university under key construction in Heilongjiang Province. It is supported by the "National Basic Capacity Building Project of 100 Central and Western Universities (Phase II)" during the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan period, and is under the responsibility of the medical education research group of a comprehensive university of the Medical Education Professional Committee of the Higher Education Society, and entrusted by the China Municipal Government's scholarship program for studying in China.

The school was founded in 1947 and approved by the former State Education Commission 1995. It is formed by the merger of Jiamusi Medical College, Jiamusi Institute of Technology, Jiamusi Teachers College and the former Jiamusi University (municipal). After 2000, Jiamusi Grain Workers Secondary Professional School, Fujin Normal School and Heilongjiang Industrial School merged one after another.
