A: It can be seen from the changes of university functions that universities have gone through a long historical process from the initial single function of cultivating specialized talents to the multiple functions of developing science and serving the society. With the rapid development of science and technology and the continuous improvement of economic level, higher education has also made unprecedented development. The function of developing science and serving the society has gradually expanded from a few countries or universities to the basic function of modern universities. The important role of universities in social and economic life is increasingly recognized by people, and universities have become the center of social life.

(1) Cultivating specialized talents is the fundamental mission of modern universities. First of all, it has been the function of universities since their birth to cultivate specialized talents. No matter how the university develops, this function will never disappear. Therefore, cultivating talents is the fundamental mission of colleges and universities.
