Every freshman in Normal University takes classes in Hulan School District, and then his sophomore year moves here. Due to the enrollment expansion of more students, there are not so many places to live in the school dormitory area, so freshmen have been attending classes in Hulan school district since 2007.
The headquarters of Normal University is located in Zhihua Mall in Hulan District, also known as University Town. There are many schools nearby, including Shangda Guangsha College, Huade College of University of Technology, Limin Campus of Heilongjiang Institute of Science and Technology, Ecological Vocational and Technical College, Far East College, not in Jiangbei, Xuefu Road, Black Building, Huaxia Computer, and Deqiang Business School, Heilongjiang Agricultural Reclamation Vocational and Technical College, and Star College (now called Heilongjiang International University) opposite Normal University.
The headquarters of Normal University is outside the university town, which is rumored to be different from the colleges in the university town. So the campus is built outside the university town, and the back door is near the entrance of the university town. There are two commercial centers in the University Town. One is Zhihua Mall, which is located at the entrance of the University Town, where the business halls of China Mobile and China Unicom are located. The other is in the Agricultural Reclamation Vocational and Technical College, which is the agricultural reclamation where KFC is located. It's quiet and prosperous, located in the middle of the university town.
