The University of Surrey (UniS) became a university on 1966. At present, there are 9300 undergraduate and graduate students studying in the only campus. The campus environment is concentrated, and academic, sports, catering and entertainment facilities are within walking distance of most student dormitories. The university has seven colleges, offering the following undergraduate and postgraduate courses: liberal arts, biomedicine and life sciences, electronics and physics, engineering, European Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, electronics, computers and mathematics, performing arts, humanities and management.
The university has established contacts with more than 500 companies and is committed to providing students with education closely related to the latest needs of industry and commerce. At present, the school has more than 7,000 full-time students, 700 of whom are from other EU countries. 1 700 is an international student from 129 countries around the world. The University of Surrey has a student union (USSU) and a series of entertainment, sports, arts and welfare facilities. The venue of USSU can accommodate 1600 people, and it is one of the largest student unions in Britain. The student union has gathered five bars and five restaurants with commercial street style. The main venue of the student union also provides weekly market stalls, exhibitions, parties and various theme activities of the club in the evening.

They are: College of Literature, College of Biomedicine and Life Sciences, College of Electronics and Physics, College of Engineering, European Academy of Health and Medical Sciences, College of Humanities and School of Management. The Guardian once listed the following research fields in Britain as the top ten: business and management research, civil engineering, economics, electronic engineering, hotel and catering services, materials engineering, music, nursing, psychology and biological sciences.
