The main school is located in Beibei District, Chongqing, at the foot of Jinyun Mountain and beside Jialing River, covering an area of more than 8,270 mu, with a school building area of 1.87 million square meters.

Rich in teaching resources, it has 4 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 national virtual simulation experimental centers and Chongqing 13 experimental teaching demonstration center.

There are 23 first-class undergraduate programs in China, 77 first-class undergraduate programs in Chongqing, and the national college students' cultural quality education base 1 program. There are more than 50,000 students, including nearly 40,000 undergraduates, nearly 1.3 million master's and doctoral students, and nearly 2,000 international students.
