Changsha, Hunan. Central South University (hereinafter referred to as "Central South University"), established in 2000, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is the first batch of "double first-class", "985 project" and "2 1 1 project" universities in China.

The school was selected into the first batch of "11plan", "201/plan", "education and training plan for outstanding engineers", "education and training plan for outstanding legal talents" and "national postgraduate plan for building high-level universities" to carry out the first batch of national pilot projects.

It is the first university in China to train master's degree students in the integration of finger technology for active military officers, one of the top 100 universities in China, and an important member of the China-Central Asia University Alliance and the China-Russia Jiaotong University Alliance.
