Founded in 1949, the school is one of the six aviation colleges under the former Ministry of Aviation Industry. Formerly known as "Pingyuan Finance and Economics School", it was upgraded to an undergraduate course on 1984 and renamed as zhengzhou institute of aeronautical industry management after the development stages of "Zhengzhou Aviation Industry School" and "zhengzhou institute of aeronautical industry management".
