As the vice president and academic leader of our college, Mr. Wang Xia devoted himself to the construction and development of physics in our college. Applied physics is a newly established major in 2005. Teacher Wang Xia actively set up a professional physics laboratory, and made efforts to expand the laboratory area, and bought more experimental instruments and equipment from the school to meet the experimental needs of students majoring in applied physics. As the person in charge of the construction of physics major, she actively participated in the curriculum construction. In 2006, College Physics of Qingdao University of Science and Technology was awarded as an excellent course in Shandong Province. Teacher Wang Xia made every effort to organize the application for discipline construction funds and carefully wrote the application materials for many times. In 2007 and 2008, the special funds for "backbone disciplines of universities in Shandong Province" and "central and local construction" reached 7 million yuan, which greatly enhanced the equipment strength of the school physics experiment center. In 2009, the physics experiment center was rated as the experimental teaching demonstration center by the school.

Since 2005, Mr. Wang Xia has started to build the Optical Information Laboratory of Qingdao University of Science and Technology. She works overtime in the laboratory on weekends, holidays or at night. At that time, many conditions such as funds, equipment and team were not available, and perseverance and belief supported her along the way. She established the Institute of Optical Information Technology from scratch, set up a research platform and set up a research team. In 2009, Photonic Information Laboratory was rated as the key laboratory of the school. At present, the laboratory has carried out joint student training and cooperative research projects with the State Key Laboratory of Solid Microstructure of Nanjing University, Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

As the vice president in charge of scientific research, Wang Xia pays attention to stimulating and motivating teachers' enthusiasm for scientific research, and formulates the scientific research award policy of the college. Since the last semester in 2009, we have regularly organized academic exchange reports from highly educated teachers in colleges and universities. In recent years, the scientific research achievements of the School of Mathematics and Science have become increasingly fruitful, and the quantity and quality of SCI papers published by teachers and the total scientific research achievements of the school have been significantly improved. 2009-2065 438+00 College of Mathematics and Science won 4 National Natural Science Funds, 7 scientific research projects of Shandong Science and Technology Department and Education Department, and 2 provincial and ministerial scientific research achievement awards.

In 2006 and 2007, Wang Xia performed well for two consecutive years, and the comprehensive evaluation result of school-level cadres in 2009 was "excellent".
