First, school profile:
1 Southwest University for Nationalities (hereinafter referred to as Southwest University for Nationalities) is located in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan. Southwest University for Nationalities was founded in July 1950 and formally established in June195/2003. It was renamed Southwest University for Nationalities in April 2003 and in March/20 15.
2. As of June 2022, the school has three campuses, namely Wuhou Campus, Airport Campus and Taipingyuan Campus, covering an area of nearly 3,000 mu, with a building area of1136,000 square meters. There are 26 colleges, 87 undergraduate majors, 2 postdoctoral mobile stations, 4 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees and 26 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degrees.
Second, cooperation and exchanges:
1.In 2002, Southwest University for Nationalities participated in the establishment of the Institute for Nationalities by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and China Academy of Sciences. The school has established strategic cooperative relations with 24 counties including Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Hunan, Qinghai, Tibet, Chongqing and Xinjiang, established cooperative relations with many enterprises, institutions and scientific research institutions in Industry-University-Research, and actively participated in poverty alleviation work in Wuling Mountain area.
2. Promote international educational exchanges and cooperation. Up to now, experts and scholars from more than 70 countries and regions have come to our school for academic exchanges. The school has established inter-school cooperation and exchange relations with Munich University in Germany, McGill University in Canada, University of Missouri in the United States, Texas Tech University in the United States, Korean National University, Hosei University in Japan, Ryoku University in Japan, Chester University in the United Kingdom, and Krakow University of Economics in Poland.
3. The school has sent nearly 1000 students abroad for exchange and study, and has recruited more than 7,500 international students from more than 70 countries. Ethnic Studies magazine pays attention to the research and discussion of basic theories, pays attention to hot and difficult issues, advocates the style of study of integrating theory with practice, and encourages the study of practical problems.
