(1) It's inconvenient to go to college away from home.
Although the traffic is more developed now, bullet trains, high-speed trains and airplanes are more common. However, if the school is far from home, no matter which mode of transportation is chosen, there will be fewer through trains and it will be more difficult to book tickets. If you want to transfer, it will be more difficult, the journey will be long and people will be more tired. In addition, the tolls of bullet trains and planes are relatively high. So it is inconvenient to go to college far from home.
My university is far from home. It takes eight hours by train, and only one train passes by. Every time we start school on holiday, we try our best to grab tickets. Once I grabbed the ticket, but after the train pulled into the station, the door was so crowded that I couldn't even squeeze my suitcase into the train door. Finally, I watched the train leave before my eyes. There is no choice but to go to the bus station to buy a bus ticket. If the cost doubles, one ticket is hard to find. There are four of us, but there are only three tickets left. It is not good to leave a classmate behind. Finally, I had to take a bus to another city and then transfer to another school. So I don't agree with the idea of choosing a university far from home.
(2) If you leave home for college, you will not be used to eating.
As the saying goes: "One side of the soil and water will support one side." The eating habits in other cities are different from those in their hometown, which may affect their studies because they can't accept the local diet, and even worse, they will be acclimatized and affect their health.
There is a classmate in our school. He is from Guangxi. His hometown is used to eating rice and rice noodles. But our school is in Yantai, where no one eats rice noodles and there is no noodle restaurant on the street. This classmate is also not used to school steamed bread. It didn't take long for me to go to school, so I couldn't stand it and proposed to drop out. After three years of hard work, I finally passed the college entrance examination and went to college smoothly, but I finally gave up my studies because of food problems. That's a real pity.
It is too hard for parents to let their children go to college far from home.
I think there is some truth in the sentence "Parents don't travel far". Children worry that no matter how old we are, we are all children in the eyes of our parents. Wherever we go, our parents will worry about us. If we all go to college far from home, it will be too hard for parents to see their children several times a year. And many college students will choose to stay in the city where their school is located after graduation. If the city is too far from home, there is no way to take care of parents.
When I was at school, I was too far away from home and only went back once every six months. Every time I call, my parents ask me if my food is good and if I have enough money, for fear that I will be wronged. It is because they can't see me and are not with me that they are worried about me. I once had a video call with my mother and found that the background behind her looked like a hospital. Only after my inquiry did I know that my father was ill in hospital. They didn't tell me because I was too far away to go back and didn't want to worry me. So I really think it's better to go to a university closer to home.
