Historical evolution of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law;

1948, in order to build and consolidate the ever-expanding Central Plains Liberated Area and cultivate professionals and cadres in all fields, the Central Central Central Plains Bureau, with Deng Xiaoping as its first secretary, resolutely decided to establish a university in the Central Plains and named it Zhongyuan University.

From 65438 to 0978, Hubei University of Finance and Economics was renamed Hubei University of Finance and Economics, becoming one of the first universities to resume enrolling undergraduates and postgraduates.

In February 2000, the State Council approved the plan of the Ministry of Education, and Zhongnan University of Finance and Economics (formerly the School of Finance and Economics of Zhongyuan University) and Zhongnan College of Political Science and Law (formerly the School of Political Science and Law of Zhongyuan University) jointly established Zhongnan University of Finance and Law, directly under the leadership of the Ministry of Education.

On May 26th, 2000, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law was formally established.

In September, 2005, the school officially entered the national "2 1 1 Project" key construction universities.
