Significance of the Rise of Central China to Central China
Located in the hinterland of China, the central region plays the role of connecting the east with the west, connecting the south with the north, attracting and radiating all directions. Judging from the overall development of China, the central part is the "waist" of China. Only when the "waist" is straight can China, a giant, walk straight and steadily, and China's economy develop in a coordinated and healthy way. In this sense, accelerating the development of the central region is an important strategic measure to improve China's national competitiveness, and it is an objective need to integrate the east and the west, connect the north and the south, and promote regional economic development.

The central region of China was once in a state of "collapse" between the opening up of the east and the development of the west. During the 11th Five-Year Plan period (2006-20 10), the position of the central region in the national development pattern changed from decline to rise, and a "V" reverse trend has been formed.

The central region is located in the hinterland of China, including Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan provinces, with a total population of 36 1 100 million, accounting for 28% of the national population, of which the rural population accounts for nearly one third of the national population.

The Opinions of the Central Committee of the State Council on Promoting the Rise of the Central Region issued in 2006 and the Plan for Promoting the Rise of the Central Region approved in 2009 have provided a strong impetus for the Central Region to "stop falling and rebound". The economy of the central provinces is developing well, and the growth rate is in a leading position in the country.

At the China Central Development Forum recently held by Wuhan University, Zhang, deputy director of the Institute of Regional Economy and Urban Management of China Renmin University and a member of the National Eleventh Five-Year Plan Expert Committee, pointed out that the proportion of the central region's economy in the country dropped significantly during the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, but it increased significantly during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan period due to national policies and industrial transfer. This pattern change is the "V-shaped reversal" in the central region.

In this regard, Wei, deputy director of the Institute of Urban Development and Environment of China Academy of Social Sciences, believes that in the future, the central region should do a good job in the construction of "three bases and one hub", namely, grain production base, energy and raw material base, modern equipment manufacturing and high-tech industrial base, and comprehensive transportation hub; Strengthen the development of key areas with Wuhan city circle, Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city group, Poyang Lake city group, Jianghuai city group and Zhongyuan city group as the core, realize the first rise of key areas, and then drive the rise of the whole central region.
