South-Central University for Nationalities, located in Wuhan, Hubei Province, is a university directly under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of the People's Republic of China. It is a qualified university in the National Key Minority Program, a national model university for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, a national planetary science alliance of universities, and a "domestic first-class university building university" in Hubei Province.

As of March 20 16, South-Central University for Nationalities has five national specialty construction sites, seven provincial brand majors, 10 Hubei strategic emerging (pillar) industry talent training plan, four national and provincial excellent video open classes, 13 national and provincial quality resources, and national and provincial experimental teaching.
