It has been selected into 1 1 1 plan, 20 1 1 plan, excellent agricultural and forestry personnel education and training plan, excellent teacher training plan, 100-school project, national high-level university public graduate program, and national college students' cultural quality education base. It is one of the seven free normal education universities. It is a pilot university for national independent selection and admission reform.
Southwest University was formed by the merger of Southwest Normal University directly under the former Ministry of Education and Southwest Agricultural University directly under the former Ministry of Agriculture in 2005. The original two schools were built adjacent to each other, with the same ancestry. Both of them can be traced back to the East Sichuan Normal School, which was established in 1906, and was renamed Sichuan Education College in 1936.
Admission method
1. provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) that implement parallel volunteer, where the proportion of schools consulting student files does not exceed 105% of the enrollment plan, and provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) that implement sequential voluntary filing.
The proportion of students' files consulted by schools shall not exceed 1.20% of the enrollment plan. In the provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) with clear provisions on the proportion of filing, the school shall implement the relevant provisions of the provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) where the students are located.
2. The school implements the policy of adding and subtracting points stipulated by the state and provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government), enrolls students and arranges majors according to the scores formed after adding and subtracting points.
3. For the provinces and categories that implement sequential volunteering, the school will give priority to the first volunteer candidate. If the first volunteer candidate has insufficient students, the follow-up volunteer candidates will be admitted in turn. If the number of students is still insufficient, volunteers will be collected according to the admission requirements.
According to the provinces and categories in parallel volunteer, the enrollment plan has not been completed. If the enrollment plan is not completed after collecting volunteers, the unfinished plan will be transferred to other provinces with good student quality.
