The exam was not easy. The School of Civil Engineering of Southeast University was established on the basis of the Department of Civil Engineering founded by 1923. It consists of four departments and an experimental center, with three doctoral programs, eight master programs and two post-doctoral mobile stations. It has a strong faculty headed by Professor Lv Zhitao, an academician of China Academy of Engineering, with 12 doctoral supervisor as the core and 45 full and associate professors as the backbone. The college has three undergraduate majors: civil engineering, environmental engineering and engineering management. Among them, the civil engineering major is jointly organized by the School of Civil Engineering and the School of Communications, and it is the first batch of first-class majors in China that have passed the professional evaluation. From 2007 to 2009, the National Center for Degree and Postgraduate Education Development of the Ministry of Education ranked fifth in civil engineering.
