Vocational and Technical College was re-established on 20 13 to adapt to the new situation of the country's vigorous development of vocational education, and it is also a school-running entity with management functions among 20 colleges directly under Henan University of Technology. Relying on the abundant teachers and superior teaching resources, the college undertakes the training of specialized talents in general higher vocational education.

At present, the college has two majors: abrasive manufacturing and material engineering technology (superhard materials and products), which is the only college in China that offers these two majors and recruits full-time students for ordinary higher vocational colleges. Materials Science and Engineering is a provincial key discipline of Henan University of Technology. After more than 50 years of construction and development, it has formed its own characteristics and advantages in the domestic abrasive and superhard materials industry, and has gathered a group of teachers composed of energetic professors, engineers and lecturers, with excellent school conditions.
