The University of Hong Kong is an international public research university in Hong Kong, China, and is known as the "Ivy League" in Asia. It is the first scientific research unit in the world to identify the pathogen of SARS. The University of Hong Kong, formerly known as the Hong Kong College of Western Medicine, is a higher education institution with a long history in Hong Kong.

2. The Chinese University of Hong Kong

The Chinese University of Hong Kong was formed by the merger of New Asia College, Chung Chi College and United College on 1963. It is the top public research university in Asia and one of the top ten universities in Hong Kong. The Chinese University of Hong Kong is a world-class academic center in the fields of humanities, mathematics, computer science, economics and finance, medicine, law, media and geography. Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is the third university in Hong Kong established by the Hong Kong government in 1960s and 1980s to meet the needs of economic transformation. HKUST is an important member of the Pacific Rim University Alliance, the Global Forum of University Presidents, the Association of East Asian Research Universities, and the Association of University Presidents of Asian University Alliance and China, and has obtained AACSB and EQUIS certification. It is the top research university in Asia and internationally renowned.

4. City University of Hong Kong

City University of Hong Kong is the City Polytechnic of Hong Kong, established in Mong Kok, Kowloon, 1984. On 1995, it was renamed City University of Hong Kong and moved to Kowloon Tong, the current campus. 1997 Kowloon Bay Campus was established in the former site of Wellington Middle School, offering associate degree and higher diploma courses. City University of Hong Kong is a world-renowned international public research comprehensive university.
