Tsinghua, why Tsinghua?
Because Tsinghua University uses postal pinyin.

Tsinghua University's English name is Tsinghua University. Why not use Pinyin Tsinghua like some universities? Because there was no hanyu pinyin in China when Tsinghua was founded. Tsinghua University was founded in 19 1 1, and Chinese Pinyin was officially adopted at the fifth session of the first National People's Congress held in February 1958, that is, Chinese Pinyin was only available in 1958, and then the original English name "Qing" was retained to preserve the school's long history.

Postal Pinyin is a phonetic system based on Vitomar Pinyin, which uses Latin letters to spell China place names. It's not used now, so you will see that many famous schools with a long history use postal pinyin.
