Wenzhou University is located in Wenzhou, Zhejiang. It is a university jointly established by Zhejiang Education Department and Wenzhou. It was selected into the pilot universities of the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of new engineering research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education, the first batch of national universities with typical experience in innovation and entrepreneurship, the first batch of national demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, and the first batch of national college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training programs.

The school insists on "strengthening the school with talents" and is committed to building a first-class teacher team. At present, 327 people (570 person-times) have been selected into various talent projects at all levels, including 27 national high-level selected talents such as academicians, experts enjoying the National Plan for 10,000 Talents, national "young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions", national "four batches" talents, winners of the Hundred Talents Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and winners of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, and various provincial talents.
