The Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning and Design of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (200 1 merged from the former Institute of Architecture and Design of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning and Design of Wuhan Institute of Urban Construction) 1953 started from the Planning and Design Office of the Third School of Central South Management Committee, and is one of the earliest design units established in universities directly under the Ministry of Education. It is now composed of Wuhan Huazhong University of Science and Technology Architectural Design Institute and Wuhan Huazhong University of Science and Technology Urban Planning Design Institute. Now it belongs to the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and holds the Grade A certificate of architectural engineering design, Grade A certificate of urban planning, Grade B certificate of municipal engineering design and Grade A certificate of engineering consultation issued by the State Planning Commission. Has passed ISO900 1 quality system certification. The hospital has professional technicians 102, including national first-class registered architects 12, second-class registered architects/3, first-class registered structural engineers 13, 20 registered planners, 9 consulting engineers and 5 registered equipment engineers, with complete specialties and strong technical force. Over the past decades, relying on the comprehensive advantages of the school, the design and research institute has strengthened cooperation with various departments, fully combined with practice, and successively completed various domestic engineering design and consulting projects with high quality, and achieved good reputation and social benefits. Since 1998, more than 30 projects have won national and provincial excellent design awards.
