Are there twelve levels of English?
There is no twelve grades in English. Common English levels are CET-4 and CET-6, and TEM4 and TEM4. CET-4 and CET-6 are general English proficiency tests for college students, but only English majors can apply for CET-4 and CET-6, and there is only one make-up test.

Adult higher education undergraduate English test (degree English) is aimed at adult undergraduates (also known as adult English level 3).

College English test is aimed at non-English majors and is divided into Band 4 and Band 6.

The English proficiency test for English majors is divided into Band 4 and Band 8.

General difficulty ranking: CET-8 > CET-4 > CET-6 > CET-4 > Adult-3 > CET-3 > CET-2.

Then there is the National English Test (PETS) for the whole society, which is divided into one to five grades. Grade B is equivalent to graduating from primary school, grade I is equivalent to graduating from junior high school, grade II is equivalent to graduating from senior high school, grade III is equivalent to CET-4, grade IV is equivalent to CET-6, and grade V is equivalent to CET-4.
