Subject: Investigation on the Difference of College Students' Expectations for Future Work
Background: College students who live on campus are often confused about their future graduation destination. Some people feel that they are above others, while others feel that they can't find a place. In fact, they haven't positioned themselves correctly. The purpose of this survey is to analyze the differences in future employment orientation and expectation of students from different universities, majors, grades and genders, and try to find out the relationship between school strength, major types and college students' employment expectation, so as to infer the influence of these aspects on students' self-orientation and the psychological process of self-orientation change.
Subjects: HKUST students of different grades, majors and genders.
Entries: 1, confidence in finding a job 2, emphasis on work 3, salary expectation
4. Work type 5. Work place 6. external action
7. Self-positioning changes
Mode:
1. Choose several same representative majors in HKUST and ANDA, such as Computer Department, Precision Instrument Department, Physics Department, Mathematics Department, Management Science Department, etc. , taking into account science, engineering and business; And there is a 5 1 questionnaire for girls.
2. Investigate the freshmen and seniors of all majors in each school, and make a comparative analysis as the representatives of seniors and juniors;
3. Concentrate on questionnaire survey, distribute 50 questionnaires to schools and majors, and recycle them uniformly;
4. Analyze and count all the questionnaires, and get the degree of correlation between the survey items and the strength and specialty types of the school.
5.*** 500 questionnaires were distributed, and 375 were actually recovered. These include:
(1) A freshman in the Department of Mechanics of HKUST (***5 1)
(2)HKUST Computer Department, Grade 99 (***74 people)
(3) HKUST Thermal Energy Engineering Grade 99 (***27 people)
(4) Class 00 of Business School of HKUST (***20 students)
(5) Anda Communication Project 0 1 (***80 people)
(6) Anda Chemical Grade 99 (***3 1)
(7) Class 00 of Anda Electronics (***42 people)
(8) Female students of Anda University (***5 1, both juniors)
Result analysis:
1, college students' confidence in finding a job is generally sufficient, which is generally higher than that of ANDA. Among them, the confidence of HKUST electronics major is higher than the average level of HKUST, which corresponds to the good employment prospects of the electronic industry at present. Female students' employment confidence is higher than the average level.
2. Regarding the focus of work, more than half of the students chose personal development space, followed by personal ability display and basic salary. It is far from the basic salary that is generally imagined.
3. On the salary expectation, HKUST is obviously higher than ANDA, and the computer department of HKUST is more prominent, which is higher than the average level of HKUST; Generally speaking, students majoring in mechanics are not easy to find jobs. We conducted a sample survey on the freshmen of Grade 02 in HKUST Mechanical Department, and their expectations were even higher than those of Grade 99 in Computer Department.
4. As for the types of jobs, as many as 42.65% students are willing to do technical jobs, which is related to the fact that most of the respondents are science and engineering students.
5. The choice of work place, most students want to go to big cities, and few students in HKUST are willing to stay in Ontario; No girl wants to go west.
6. Contemporary college students are mostly independent, and their job choices are not influenced by external factors. Girls are more homesick and influenced by their parents, but influenced by their lovers is lower than the average.
7. The investigation of self-directed transformation failed. Because of multiple choices, many students chose contradictory options, which were difficult to count and had to give up.
8. Contemporary college students generally have low requirements for professional counterparts.
Discussion:
1. As expected, freshmen have higher expectations for their jobs, which is obviously due to their ignorance of the situation. Freshmen in mechanical engineering department have lower requirements for professional counterparts, because there are fewer positions in mechanical counterparts and the treatment is not ideal.
2. Girls' employment confidence is higher than that of boys, which was unexpected before. This is related to the fact that girls generally have better grades, so their self-confidence is relatively high. On the issue of employment, girls are greatly influenced by their parents and less influenced by their lovers, while boys pay more attention to the same employment direction as girls.
3. Both 3.HKUST and ANDA students have high confidence in finding a job, which shows that college students' confidence in finding a job has little to do with the school level. The expected salary level of college students is relatively high, which is consistent with the overall thinking, indicating that college students' expectations for future work treatment are based on the school level.
Most students want to work in big cities. Although the proportion of Anda who wants to stay in Anhui is several times that of HKUST, compared with those who want to go to big cities, it is still very few. Few people want to build the west, girls are homesick, and no one wants to run that far; Freshmen are excellent, and many people are willing to go to the west.
Conclusion:
1. Contemporary college students are more confident in finding jobs. The expectation of work treatment is positively related to the strength of the school. Girls have high confidence, which is contrary to the phenomenon that it is difficult for women to find jobs in society. Maybe it's because there are few samples of girls.
Contemporary college students don't value wages, which is different from social atmosphere.
3. College students are generally independent in their future career choices and are not influenced by the outside world.
4. Big cities are more attractive. Few old classmates volunteered to build the west, while freshmen are more keen on going to the west. This phenomenon should attract the attention of relevant departments.
