Sichuan University of Arts and Sciences, located in Dazhou, the eastern gateway of Sichuan, can be traced back to Longshan Academy, which was founded in the late Qing Dynasty. Higher education began in 1976, and it was called Daxian Normal College, which was one of the earlier normal colleges in Sichuan Province at that time. 1978 was officially incorporated into the ranks of national full-time colleges and universities with the approval of the State Council, and was renamed Daxian Teachers College and Daxian Teachers College. Approved by the Ministry of Education in February 2006, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Sichuan University of Arts and Sciences. It is the only provincial-level ordinary undergraduate college in East Sichuan.
As of May 20 14, the school covers an area of nearly 800 mu, including 692 mu of Lianhu Campus, with a campus construction area of more than 300,000 square meters. Collection of books 12 1000, electronic resources 2 1000GB, Chinese and foreign periodicals 1460, and the total value of teaching instruments and equipment is more than 67 million yuan. There are more than 1,000 faculty members/kloc-0, including 573 full-time teachers, 82 full-time professors and associate professors/kloc-0, and 70% of them have master's and doctoral degrees. There are nearly 1 1 000 full-time college students, including more than 8800 undergraduates. It is an application-oriented undergraduate college with coordinated development of humanities and science and engineering.
