Xi 'an Medical College is an ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education and headed by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government. Founded in 195 1, its predecessor was Shaanxi Health School and Shaanxi Health Cadre College. 1994 was renamed Shaanxi Medical College. In February 2006, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to a medical undergraduate college and transformed into Xi 'an Medical College.
