East China University of Political Science and Law was originally named East China University of Political Science and Law. 1in June, 952, the departments of law, politics and sociology of nine universities, including St. John's University, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Soochow University, Xiamen University, Hujiang University, Anhui University, Shanghai University and Aurora University, were merged and established in the former site of St. John's University.
