Chongqing jianzhu university was founded in the period of national college adjustment 1952, when it was Chongqing Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture. 1954, renamed Chongqing Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture. 1978 was identified as a national key institution of higher learning. 1994, renamed chongqing jianzhu university, is one of the famous eight old schools of architecture in China. After construction, the school has developed into a university of science and technology with civil construction, urban and rural construction and environmental protection as its main professional features, with engineering as its main subject and complete disciplines such as science, literature, law and management, forming a complete bachelor's, master's and doctoral education system. In 2000, it was merged into Chongqing University to form a higher-level 985 Engineering School.
The current president is Lin Jianhua, 20 10- 12 president of Chongqing university.
