Brief introduction of the scale: UPI, the abbreviation of University Personality Scale, is a questionnaire for college students' mental health and personality health, which is used for early detection and early treatment of students with psychological problems. Form 1966 was compiled by psychological counselors and psychiatrists from various universities in Japan. As one of the earliest and most widely used psychological survey scales in colleges and universities in China, it is mainly used for freshmen as a psychological health survey when they enter school. It is conducive to early detection of students with psychological problems and providing timely help and necessary treatment. At the same time, it plays a role in promoting mental health, helping students understand the manifestations of psychological problems and enhancing their awareness of mental health care.
After the UPI test is completed, there is only one index to be calculated, which is the total score. UPI questionnaire adopts true and false choice, with multiple-choice question 1 point and negative question 0. The calculation rule of UPI total score is to add the scores of other 56 questions except fake questions. Therefore, the total score of UPI is the highest 56 and the lowest 0.
UPI consists of the following three parts:
The first part is the basic situation of students. Including students' name, gender, age, address, contact information, family situation, hobbies, enrollment motivation, etc.
The second part is the UPI questionnaire itself. It consists of 60 projects. Four of them are lie scales, and the topics are 5, 20, 35 and 50 respectively. The other 56 items reflect students' symptoms such as distress, anxiety and contradiction.
The third part is an additional question, mainly to understand the overall evaluation of the physical and mental health of the subjects, whether they have received psychological counseling and treatment, and what counseling needs they have.
United press international's screening criteria are as follows:
The first screening criteria:
Meet one of the following conditions, should be classified as the first category:
(1) The total UPI score is above 25 (inclusive);
(2) Make a positive choice in Question 25;
(3) At least two auxiliary questions are used as positive multiple-choice questions at the same time;
(4) Identify the person seeking advice (because there are many people in this article, sometimes it is unnecessary);
The second screening criteria:
Meet one of the following conditions, included in the second category:
(1) The total UPI score is between 20 and 25 (inclusive, excluding 25);
(2) One of questions 8, 16 and 26 is a positive choice;
(3) Only one auxiliary question is a multiple-choice question;
The third screening criteria:
Those that do not belong to the first and second categories should be classified as the third category.
Evaluation and classification of UPI results;
Among the first class students, those who are considered to have mental health problems through further diagnosis are called Class A students, and they need continuous psychological counseling.
Students who don't have serious mental health problems are called Class B students, and such students can be the object of attention of consulting institutions in the future. Students who don't have any mental health problems are called class C students.
